we are getting these adorable portable ashtrays, designed by chillichilly, for our store. aren't they fun? (well..not trying to encourage smokers here.) i just found that it's also a big trend, a good one, in japan. there is even a museum for it! MAM, the mobile ashtray museum, has over 300 portable ashtrays for sale. according to this japan times article, the world's third-largest cigarette-maker aims to push portable ashtrays so that smokers can place their butts in a safe place until further disposal and non-smokers can enjoy a landscape unblemished by discarded cigarettes.
